Situated next to Château Clarke, in the appellation of MOULIS, the 24 hectares of Château Malmaison were bought in 1973.
In the year it was purchased, the vines had almost completely disappeared, with only one hectare of vines still planted. Between 1974 and 1978 all of the vines were replanted.
The characteristics of the “terroir”, together with the grape variety of the vineyard (Merlot Noir), combine to give wines that are harmonious, suave and fruity with a rich bouquet.
Ageing in young oak barrels gives the wine the feminine qualities of elegance, finesse and suppleness, most worthy of the Baroness Nadine de Rothschild.
